Letting the past enhance the future

The Hall has been the heart of Brockwell Park since 1813, built for John Blades, a wealthy glass-maker. Now, an important Grade II* listed manor house with Grade II coach house and stables, the Hall and stables are used as a cafe, council offices and park maintenance depot, however the buildings remain largely underused, undiscovered and unappreciated.

Exciting future

In early 2019 a £387,500 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) was awarded to Lambeth Council to develop detailed designs and proposals to restore and transform Brockwell Hall, Stables and Coach House into a venue for weddings and corporate bookings, food and drink, exhibitions and community meetings and events. This exciting project requires considerable funding, with the total cost of Brockwell Hall restoration estimated to be around £6m, which would conserve its heritage value and secure its future.

The Project

The project’s development phase is underway to fully develop proposal for the Hall by the end of 2020, which is being driven in partnership between Lambeth Council and Brockwell Park Community Partners (BPCP). This follows the successful restoration of the Park’s landscape in 2013, again funded through National Lottery funding. If the bid for a Lottery grant is successful the hall will be refurbished and brought into new uses by 2023.

Brockwell Hall Needs Your Support!

Lambeth Council and Brockwell Park Community Partners have made a successful bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund to fund detailed design and feasibility work looking at transforming Brockwell Hall into a venue for weddings and corporate bookings, food and drink, exhibitions and community meetings and events. A further National Lottery Heritage Fund application will follow with the aim of securing funds to deliver the project.

We launched the latest phase of consultation with our Brockwell Park Community Partners on Saturday 29th February, where many community stakeholders attended a meeting to discuss plans for the Hall.
